Shirovasti Ayurveda

  • The performance of shirovasti is an art, as well as a healing action. The first step is to sculpt a custom-fit crown, moulded to the head with a paste of dahl flour and soft cotton gauze. It’s important to craft a cap that won’t leak, so the process has several steps, involving the creation of a gasket pressed into place with a soft probe.
  • The scalp is left exposed, encircled by cone-shaped vessel. Next, warm, medicated oil is poured in, its flow softened by a ripe jackfruit leaf placed on the head.
  • we hand-make several traditional Ayurvedic and Siddha shirovasti oils from freshly-harvested medicinal botanicals for our patients’ needs.
  • A leather cap should be tied on the patients forehead with the help of cotton cloth belt. Then the paste of the black gram powder is pasted between the cap and the head. The pasting is done in such a way that there should not be any fluid leakage during the procedure.
  • The medicated luke warm oil is kept over the head. The level of the fluid should be about three and half inch from the scalp. The temperature of the oil should be maintained. The oil shouldnot be too hot or too cold.

Peacfull Treatment for Mind and Health- Ayurveda

PIZHICHIL

Trained attendants under the supervision of a physician perform the treatment. The attendants squeeze the oil with their right hand and simultaneously massage with their left hand in down ward strokes. The patient should be made to adopt the seven standard positions so that no area of the body is left uncovered. Though it is actually a process of sudation used as a purvakarma ( preparatory treatment), it has also proved to be highly effective on its own for treating diseases caused due to the vitiation of the Vita humor, especially Pakshaghata (hemiplegia), paralysis, muscle spasms and other degenerative diseases affecting muscles.
